CONVERSE JAPAN RECAP (FRAGMENT / NUMBER (N)INE)

Japan has always been a monster market for the Converse All Star. Nothing seems to have changed, with the freshest Chucks always reserved for Japanese feet. Here’s a wrap-up of some low cut All Star Ox releases currently popping up round Nippon.

Despite dissolving in 2009, Takahiro Miyashita’s noir fashion label Number (N)ine still had a Converse colab in the pipeline. With their warped laces seemingly dripping off the upper, this CT Asymmetrical Ox packs enough weirdness to make you look twice at the subtly distressed all-black upper.

In contrast, Fragment’s blue canvas CT Hiroshi Ox hits all of the notes you’d expect from Mr Fujiwara. Find these under the dictionary definition of ‘wearable’. Finally, if you prefer sneaks that freak your feet, then the Tubler Ox range combines swishy black patent with a chewy rubber fruit sole for a bouncy flavour burst. They're all available online right now at Bingo Runner and Flauge.
