Clarks Originals have teamed up with the cult graffiti artist Futura to create a remake of the classic Wallabee boot, which as we all know was originally introduced by Lance Clark in 1965. True to form, Futura has deployed his trademark Atomic Ring tag, laser embossed into the chocolate leather and topped with abstract camouflage laces, a motif the famed NY artist has returned to repeatedly since his days in the military. Staying true to the shoe’s heritage, it retains the customary crepe sole and is presented within its own custom designed packaging. A big hit in the urban community with Wu-Tang at the forefront of bringing the Clarks Wallabee back to life in the late '90s, Futura is set to take the boot to the next level with it's sleek, stylish and sought after design for the new generation of street cats. We here at the SF HQ are huge fans of both Futura's art work and Clarks Originals, so bringing the combination together is sure to set feet ablaze worldwide.
The Futura Wallabee will be available from February 2008 as a limited edition of 200 pairs in the UK - check Schuh, Foot Asylum and RAN for your pair!
