Berlin’s Solebox store has this ripping new colab in the works. Famed for their previous collaborative efforts, the guys pushed ASICS hard with several complicated concepts before settling on this tonal Gel Lyte III. They are actually the very same shoe – the colour change in the midsole is achieved when the photochromatic paint used in production is exposed to direct sunlight. As far as high-tech gimmicks go, it’s a pretty good one – we’ve certainly never seen it before! Aside from that doozie, you get ballistic mesh, purple 3M, quality suede and a silver-foil logo all wrapped up in a trademark Solebox purple. Actually, store owner Hikmet Sugoer tells us they tried to avoid designing another purple shoe, but the special ink worked best in the colour so they had no choice. So there you have it. 250 pairs available from Solebox, with a further unbranded global drop expected sometime after. AUGUST RELEASE
