No shoe has shaken the sneaker scene quite like the very first Air Jordan. Arguably the kicks franchise on which much of the Nike success story was built, the Air Jordan was a phenomenon upon its release. Not to mention controversial, with the crusty NBA commish slapping hefty fines on Michael every time wore them on court due to the then conservative on-court uniform code. To celebrate this momentous release, Jordan are bringing back the OG Jordan 1 complete with 'Nike' branded tongue tags. Gone is the Jumpman logo on the heel that's been a standard on more recent retros, replaced with a faint red cross that plays on the whole 'banned' theme. Look out for these later this year, most likely around October 18 to mark the original Air Jordan's anniversary. Thanks to Jordans Daily and Freshness for the news.
