After being previewed by Kazuki Kuraish in his Felicity magazine of earlier this year, new pictures have emerged of the fixie-friendly Samba that Kazuki has collaborated on with brazened Japanese artist Madsaki. These will form part of the upcoming adidas Five-Two-3 City Pack, of which Kazuki will be coordinating the Tokyo contingent. Drawing on Madsaki’s experiences as a bicycle messenger working in New York, the Samba was chosen for its popularity amongst NY riders. The waterproof upper is made from slick sea-snake skin, with the stark geometric pattern on the Velcro lace-flaps resembling the livery of the bike Madsaki painted for last year’s RVCA x Cinelli Exhibition. The bright purple insole is made from an anti bacterial odor resistant material, further enhancing the shoe’s street appeal. Release dates are yet to be confirmed but word is that this will be the only member of the City Pack getting a wider international release. Information and images via the Madsaki blog and Felicity.
