With its name derived from the in-house colour code used for adidas’ famous royal blue, the new “A.039” collection is destined to become an integral part of the Originals lineup. Sleek and refined, this is an apparel driven range in which footwear is offered as a complimentary component. Hence there’s nothing loud or faddish... the classic Gazelle, Campus and Aditennis silhouettes on show here all carry an understated charm. Developed by Swedish designer Josefine Åberg, the minimalist leanings of the range are signaled by the muted, almost hi-end Japanese branding on the tongue.
