The Vans Vault range is about exposing creative expression. It draws influences from art, music, skateboarding and surfing. Each season, Vans picks a different artist to compliment the Vault range and this time round its Melbourne artist JOSH PETHERICK.
Josh moved to Melbourne in the late 90s to pursue a music carreer but in 2002, set up a studio working as an exhibiting artist and freelance illustrator. He has completed works with Vitra, Tokion Magazine as well as clothing companies such as Commonwealth Stacks, Stussy and 2k by Gingham.
He has also decorated gallery spaces in Sydney and has just had a solo exhibition at the world famous Colette in Paris, France.
His love for music and strong ties to the Inverted Crux Music stable in Melbourne sees him playing assorted instruments at the musical collective Bohemian Knights and the Spores of The Golden Beard group.
We photographed most of the catalog, cos even though we have the samples in the office, we thought that all of you needed to see how much work has gone into it.
