At the conclusion of the Nike NYC Olympic event (day one), a select group were invited to the Mercer St Nike store to chillax over a G&T and the world's smallest falafel finger foods. With most of the NYC sneaker royalty in attendance, this was an intimate gathering that was graced with the presence of Hiroshi Fujiwara and Nike topdog Mark Parker. Unfortunately Tinker Hatfield was not in the house, or we'd have the entire HTM trio on board! Always interesting to hear the likes of Parker and H.F. talk sneakers and in this case, the background to the FlyKnit project was both detailed and illuminating. Some of the prototypes and samples were off the chain!
Upon reflection, it was quite a day. With so much to see and do, we're both invigorated and confident that what we've seen will light the way forward. The FlyKnit looks way better in person that it does in photos, that's all we can really add at this point. We look forward to rocking ours tomorrow! Til then... SF CREW. NYC.
