Nash’s first ever proper shoe collaboration, the DC Cad Well has been described as ‘English wildfowler (duck hunter) meets street wear’. In keeping with the stately British theme of the release, Size? and DC recently took over a dapper English tavern for an evening of gentlemanly banter and high chivalry.
The tavern was quaint yet traditional, a good old[e] pub normally acquainted by legislative types, in one of the oldest areas of the City of London, but sequestered away from the usual rif-raf, we were all here to address one thing, the latest and greatest from hybrid heavy-hitter and London uber-designer Alex Nash.
In a strange bizarro-world type scenario, this was a sneaker launch party with barely a handful of sneakers making a show. The grown folk look was in heaviest of rotation with more than a few Visvims, Clarks and more mature lace-ups making appearences, and barely an air bubble in sight. Barbours, Triple-Goose and Second Son also steadied the sartorial elegance.
Essentially, Mr Nash has affected the game in such a way in recent months that the trainer nuts of previous seasons are finding that the future of footwear can sometimes be rather more refined and comforting than simply hotsteppin in a retro.
