Now in its eighth year, the International Talent Support (ITS) competition kicks off today with a call for entries. This worldwide design competition allows for winners in three categories: fashion, accessories and photography and is open to final year students or young designers and photographers. Over 787 schools in 60 countries compete for cash prizes and real life opportunities.
Finalists are flown to the seaside town of Trieste in northeast Italy July 10th and 11th, 2009 to present their work to an international panel of renowned fashion editors, buyers and fashion influencers. Diesel, the main partner of the fashion competition, guarantees concrete support to a young talent with a cash prize of €50,000 and an internship within the Diesel creative team, based in Italy.
Additional awards are also given out within the fashion category including: Fashion Collection of the Year, in which a winner is awarded €20,000 towards the development of a new collection; Fashion Special Prize with a cash award of €5,000; the i-D Styling Award which is offered to the collection with the best styling; and the Vertice Award which is given by the renowned boutique in Turin in which winners will present their work within the store window display.
ITS and MINI, main partner of photography give photography students and young photographers the chance to compete for the MINI Clubman Photo Award, with a cash prize of €10,000 and a professional shoot with a famous photographer to be published in an important Italian magazine. Additional awards include the Pitti Immagine Photo Award and the SVA Photoglobal Award.
