Converse and Journeys have teamed up to bring you the second annual 'Get Out of the Garage' music contest - a contest for up-and-coming bands that does just what it says. For this year’s Get Out of the Garage contest, two Grand Prize winners will win the prize of a free trip to perform with last year's winners Flying Machines in Austin, TX at one of the largest music festivals in the United States. There are two rounds of judging. In the first round, fans will have the opportunity to vote online for the top 10 finalists in two categories - Rock and Urban. In round two, Converse and Journeys will choose the top five from each category and announce one grand prize winner from each genre. The remaining eight finalists will receive a pair of Converse shoes, a gift certificate from Converse, and a gift certificate from Guitar Center.
