DUB/REGGAE TRIPLE HEADER - AUSTRALIA

Overproof Soundsystem (UK), Junior Kelly (JA) & G.Corp Tour Feb '08

DUB/REGGAE TRIPLE HEADER - AUSTRALIA

Bench Music and Motherland Collective announce tour dates for Overproof Soundsystem, Junior Kelly and G.Corp in Australia this February! These dubsters and reggae legends combine for a one off tour with a small touring army direct from Jamaica and the UK. Australian fans will relish the chance to witness these fiends erupt on stage – their energy and exuberance live is a must-see for any reggae head.

Birmingham outfit Overproof Soundsystem are not to be tied down to one genre, the music policy is anything reggae or reggae influenced, from old school '60s cuts to modern dub, hip hop and electronica. Underground anthem ‘Watch What You Put Inna’ and a re-rub of Kraftwerk's ‘The Model' are just two of the tasty treats in a 90 minute set.

If that isn't enough, add prolific Jamaican songwriter Junior Kelly, famous for his ‘Love So Nice’ track, a successful Jamaican No.1 and European chart topper for 15 weeks. Apart from delivering massively tight rhythm sections and a stonking live performance with his band, Kelly does not sound off preachy and hostile rants about Babylon. Kelly's lyrics are what you would expect from a devout Rasta. Australian listeners will enjoy Kelly's universal message of love and humanity and what Kelly says is the true calling of Rastafari. "What is Rasta really about?" he asks rhetorically. "Togetherness, love and strength," he answers.

This mighty tour brings with it the explosive Conrad Kelly on percussion, long time Steel Pulse drummer who has also drummed for many reggae greats including Freddy MC Gregor, I Jahman Levi and UB40.

The tour will be supported at selected shows by the Groove Corporation DJ set, currently a sought after remixing team. G.Corp flex their shred-cut-reconstruct muscle over classic tracks by Bob Marley, Dillinger, UB40, Luciano, Rae & Christian, Bobby Womack, Ennio Morricone, Tosca, as well as many other gems from their Elephant House Studio. Only they can shamelessly mix soul, funk and roots into unavoidable bass powered dance grooves where the beats dig deep but never overwhelm.

A one off tour with a mighty lineup. Quite simply, not to be missed!
