The Grand Prix winner is "Summer Sandal" from Julian Jaede, Germany and the Excellence Winner is "4 Beach" from Marcial Ahsayane Montoya, Spain. They have been chosen out of 645 designs from 24 European countries.

Grand Prix winner receives a prize of 5,000 Euro plus one pair of sample footwear of his/her design, some pair of his/her footwear it they get into production.

Excellence winner receives 500 Euro plus some PR.

Summer Sandal - Julian Jaede: "The Summer Sandal is a lifestyle rubber shoe. The sandals very predominant ASICS logo forms the main structure of these shoes and helps to show a very strong brand identity"

ASICS comments: Many sandals were entered in this competition, but the winning design combined simplicity with style in an optimal way. The jury liked the idea of using the ASICS logo stripe as the ultimate element, resulting in a clean and puristic look. Besides, making the link to a potential advertising image with the sunburned feet shows that the designer has been thinking ahead. The product has become part of the user's life. A great idea.

4 Beach - Marcial Ahsayane Montoya: "The design is thinked for play Soccer Beach. This modality is played barefoot. The functionality of the concept is to protect the toes when you shoot and take care the sand don't fill the interior.

ASICS comments: The original "4-Beach" concept, a beach soccer design with strongly incorporated ASICS logos, is enormously attractive. The player's upper feet are protected by a lightweight construction without lessening the sensation of playing barefoot in sand. From a functional point-of-view, some modifications would need to be made. But the concept receives credit for creative inspiration.
