Michael Jordan was the very reason why I began to play the game of basketball. I can still remember the "flu" game against the Utah Jazz and the game winner against them in the finals. Michael Jordan proved that no matter what obstacles stand in your way, you have to find a way to overcome. Despite all the problems he faced on and off the court, he continued to pour all his emotions out on the court. Even the death of his father did not stop his love for the game of basketball. Michael Jordan grew up in an era where all the legends were still playing the game. He played against Magic, Larry, Julius, Dominique, etc. All of these players were the first innovators of the game, and Michael succeeded over every one of them, and still honored them with his own contribution to the game. Michael had his own style unique to the game and transformed the game into something much more than just a basketball game. Michael's sneakers and commercials are one of a kind, and his sneakers are still being sold today. Yet it is still Michael's heart that showed the most on the court. Without Michael, we would not have stars such as Kobe Bryant or Allen Iverson today. Michael dominated the game. Every opponent he went up against knew they would have a tough time to beat him because of his competitive drive. No one wins six NBA championships without any heart. No one. Michael captured six rings and also had MVP titles lined up. He was the all around best basketball player and he still was not satisfied. He continued to work hard in the gym in order to surpass himself. Everyday he pushed his hardest to outdo his own performance. It is this drive that needs to be seen within everyone, whether it is life or a game. In everything we do, we should continue to have the heart and to push on no matter what the consequences. This is how we prove our worth and this is Michael's greatest attribute I admire. His hard work excelled above everyone else. Not only was Michael the best in his prime, but in his return he came back destroying most of the league. He still was clutch. He did not shy away from the ball when the game was on the line. He had total confidence he would hit the game winner and almost 99 percent of the time he did. You can always count on Michael Jordan. He still continues to preach to this day that the love of the game is the fundamental to becoming the best at the game. These are all the reasons why Michael has deeply touched my heart. Michael is all heart all the time. Hard work is the key to success in anything that you do and Michael was the best example not only to me but to the future generations and the generations to come.
