personally, i play basketball. and anyone who plays basketball respects michael jordan in some sort of way. Michael Jordan is a basketball god, and someone every aspires to be like. I am 15 years old and grew up hearing how good Michael Jordan is and how much he affects the game of basketball. Even though i'm a girl, during work outs and practices and games i can apply Michael Jordan's work ethic, philosiphies and mentality to anything i do. Michael Jordan was the ultimate winner, making everyone around him better while he was at Chicago. I'm a point guard so i try to do the same. Also, Jordan's competitive spirit is inspiring and drives me to do anything it takes to win. This quote exemplifies this attitude, "I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win", -Michael Jordan. I also know a lot of these entries will be a bunch of prasing and admiring, but Michael Jordan has affected my life as a athlete and a person, and i dont even know the guy. take this quote for example, "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." when i first came across this quote i didn't quite understand it. But, after i read it a few more times, i realized, everyone fails and struggles, even Michael Jordan. When i feel a lot of pressure on me to do something right or be expected to make the right decision at the end of the game with the ball in my hands, this quote gives me confidence. This quote gives me reassurance in life and on the basketball court, that its ok to fail, everyone fails, its how u respond to failure.
Now, in terms of his contributions to fashion is a different story. I admire Michael Jordan and what he's done for the fashion world around me. Personally, i LOVE shoes and clothes and Jordans are a big part of fashion today. When i'm older i want to be involved in the shoe design or advertising so i admire Jordan and the shoes he's helped to create. Anything with Jordans name on it is worth buying, thats my theory. Overall Jordan has changed the game of basketball and the fashion world, what more could you want in a role model.
