Topic: could you help identify a pair of sneakers most likely Adidas or Puma

I have been trying for at least two years to identify them, but with out success, so you are pretty much my last chance.

The picture was taken in 1991.
I believe them to be brand sneakers and for some reason I am sure they are Adidas or Puma, but I might be mistaken here.

On the shoe tongue is a logo surrounded by thin horizontal stripes, it is visible in the original picture.
There is some kind of sway on the inner side of the shoe, which speaks against them being Adidas, as Adidas would have the three stipes also on the inner side.
The color is white with purple, tuquoise blue and partly grey sole. There seems to be a tiny logo on the side which looks to me like the Adidas treefoil, but again I might be completely mistaken.

I know this is though and the picture isn't very good.

I would be awsome if you could help.

What's really striking too are the very long laces which are tied at least twice around the shoe.

for the years 87?-92? tying your laces around the ankle was a really common thing. i remember heaps of people doing that at highschool.

what country was the picture taken in? that might help narrow it down?

@ Brendan
thank you, the picture was taken in Germany in 1991.

I have been able to solve this myself in the meantime.

Almost cannot believe it after searching for several years.

It is the Puma Avenue Hi.

What made it so difficult to find them, was that I was convinced they must be Adidas. Really stupid, because Adidas of course would have the three stripes on the inner side of shoe.

Here are a few pictures.

I have to say I still really like the design today.

The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand

LOL saw this over at CT, didn't answer as for sure they look like Puma's but that thing sure looked like a trefoil at the laces, cunfused the issue so much so had nothing to input.
Good work on the ID dude.

All the gear and no idea.
