As for cooking steak, start by buying good steak, scotch fillet, eye fillet, rib eye on the bone.
Inch thick steak usually takes about 4mins each side. Trick is to rest it in the oven turned on at about 60degrees. Chef trick, keeps steak warm, but also rest it nicely.

With steak, I do the jamie oliver thing where I cook one side of the steak how ever long it needs and just rest it for about 30secs~1min on a wooden chopping board that has some olive oil and herbs, some seasoning before going back on the pan for round 2, rest again then serve(timing it with the vegies and other stuff
you made me drool mate, steak loooks mighty nice!

Stopped by the Terminus for a bite last night.
Wagyu Burger
House-made spinach, porcini & goats cheese tortellini, sauteed mushrooms, sage burnt butter.
Also had some Wagyu sliders and Chargrilled calamari salsa verde that was gone by the time I remembered the camera.

so tonight was my 21st, and despite several cake mishaps, we did our best and the end result wasn't as atrocious as I was expecting.
