Hi,I am quite new in here and just started customising sneakers as my hobby not long ago. But i gotta problem. Why the paint or marker that i use never seems to dry even after a week? It has a sticky surface even after a week. Can any kind soul out there help me?

what kind of paint are you using?
its best to leave them in a dry non humid place, in which after a week they SHOULD DRY!
i tend to beleive its the paints issue, i suggest u try on another service, or perhaps your paint is simply quite thick

Australia, im singaporean coincidentally! and speaking of singapore, i doubt ur a fan anyway, but s.h.e will be in singapore on friday haha i wish i could go i guess that would apply if your interested and chinese i guess. o well
back to topic.....
The best known paint, supposedly is angelus, im not sure if u guys can get it in singapore but i suggest u check, also turtlefeathers.com sells them, i think thats the site?
or you could use ebay,
as for me: since no retailers in australia have angelus im using Derivan matisse in which i mix with a thing called " medium textiles " by jo sonja's thats to thinnen the paint and ive never used markers before only some perminant markers to clean up edges at times, im no proffesional or aynthing compared to some others like sekure on this forum.

i would suggest you use something to thinnen your acrylic, its not your applying too much, its its naturally thick and when its thinner, it makes it more smoother and easier to dry, and youll need a few coats after each dry, something like 3 coats
trick is so its not too thin so it looks shit, but not too thick to avoid cracking,
if you read the guides to customizing they suggest mixing with acetone which thinnens it and so forth.
overall suggestion i suggest u experiment with paints of differnt brands, read the guide and tips etc, and keep trying!

Dont use sharpies and paint markers, sharpies smudge and paint markers crack
Actually the kicks I've done with Sharpies came out clean as hell my man. And I only use metallic paint markers (gold, silver, blue, purple) I've yet to see crack.. the ink lasts like spray paint- it's pretty durable. I mean I have a pair of wallabies I rocked 6 years ago, painted with blue Krylon and overtoned with a gold paint marker and it

i wouldnt use paint markers i used to graff bags in high school and they crack alot if u go to thick...as for sharpies u shouldnt use alot maybe for outlineing and thats about it cause youll never get a really solid area and ypull see streaks in it on top of that black sharpies leave a wierd color tint which fades anyway which becomes a waiste of time..i dunno about clear coats probably an art fixitive iv never used it before on anything i see it around walmart carrys a krylon one i doubt u should use that if u do try fine coats let them dry in between as u would any other thing u paint cause youll end up with wierd blotches like dull and shiney every where and pretty much youl be pissed after all that hard work....also before painting with anything u should always make sure your supplies are compatable with each other test everything on cardboard first kinna like how krylon and montanas wont work together they bubble well u dont want a permanent marker to eat ur paint or your varnish to bleed ur maker lines somethimes these things can happen and it would suck if it was a perfectly good shoe_______doodoobrown nikkah

or possibly use some thing more flexable maybe u could brush on like thin layers of opoxy although iv never donr this and ud probably wanna try it out on something besides a shoe at first if its thin it may not crack but if u use to much like waaay to much your shoe will turn into a rock then u could just skip it across the lake cause itll be usless

What up peeps!!! New to the forum but I'll just come straight out with a question, I've just started customizin AF1's and and on the last pair I done the image runs onto the rubber sole. Afterwards I found out that it's best to use dye but if the image does happen to run onto the sole what can I use to seal it??? I know varnish will crack though! Silicon sealant perhaps??? Heeeelllllp!!!

sometimes paint markers work and dont crack, but my personal favorite is to airbrush them, if you have access to that, it works great cause its so thin. metallic markers generally dont crack, except with superstars, they kinda smudge, but only a little
