A new version of the KT26 is due to hit Aussie stores next month. Men's, women's youth through to baby in multiple colours!
New men's colour in Navy&Yellow which is a Dunlop colour combo from the 60s/70s + all black version.
Looks like the shape has been re-tuned like it was back in the early 80s.
Also noticed kt26 temp site is up + dunlopfootwear page is looking new.

BigW is stocking the new KT26 styles.
Target & Kmart make their own knock-offs, although heard Payless is interested in taking on the new model too.

The KT26 has been around since the mid 70s & was developed in the same home town in direct competition to NIKE. It was regarding as one of the world's best running shoes by runner's world mag at the time.
It's been on continuous sale in Aus since 1978 & sold more than 6 million pairs (not bad for one style) + Dunlop's been making sport shoes since the early 20s.
Yeah Dunlop has lost it's way since the 90s (thanks to buyers, not designers) but luckily this is changing. Just take a look at where the Volley is these days.
The KT26 is as iconic as they get & there aint many around who can rivial it's ongoing success + it's a bloody good shoe........ that's saying something.

This Blue/Red/White colour way is based on the original OSAGA KT26 shoe from the mid to late 70s.
This shoe was developed in Eugene, Oregon in direct competition against NIKE. The OSAGA company started up 3 months after Blue Ribbon Sports (NIKE).
Apparently OSAGA & NIKE used to fly helicopters over each others offices in an attempt to annoy each other + took turns at sponsoring the Hayward track & field clock. OSAGA got into financial difficulty & closed it’s doors by the start of the 80s.
The guy who developed the KT26 then went on to AVIA shoes (AVIA became the 4th largest sport footwear company during this time + that’s why early AVIA shoes have the cantilever technology which is derived from the KT26 design) which he then sold on to REEBOK by the late 80s for a tidy sum.
I’ve posted more images of the Blue/White/Red concept. At this stage the KT26 OSAGA is a concept design looking for a suitable retailer.
