let me have a go.
Hyperstrike is a limited edition shoe typically produced in a number of 50 or less - more typically 24 seems to be the staple amount of hyperstrikes. They have exceptional details and intricate additions only found on Hyperstrike models.
Quickstrike is a limited release, typically tier 0 or tier 1, some quickstrikes have hyperstrike models with additional accents (ie. laser etching, real horsehair, scuffed and burnished leather.) The shoe examples I gave are as follows, laser etching hyperstrike on the Stash AF1's, real horsehair on the Year Of The Dog AF1's, scuffed and burnished leather on the DQM Bacon AM90. These shoes were all released as both hyperstrike for the family and friends of the designers (read: shop owners) as well as a quickstrike which was sold throughout the world at primarily selected accounts. There are more rare versions of Quickstrikes that have a more limited release, but that is purely dependant on the shoe itself.

cool.
so what exactly are these tier 0 or tier 1 accounts? sorry, i'm ignorant.

no worries, Tier 0 and Tier 1 accounts are primarily accounts that sell limited kicks (Saint Alfreds, UNDFTD, Alife Rivington Club, HUF, DQM, I'm guessing Provider...) And then Tier 1 accounts are usually Niketown, and spots that carry the more limited general releases. Don't know where they would be in your neck of the woods, probably Highs and Lows and spots like that. Someone from Oz could probably clear that up better than I can.

I thought the original definition of a quickstrike was any release which wasn't planned as far in advance as a regular release, so as a result didn't appear on release sheets or as part of futures orders.

hmmm, possibly, but the DQM's appeared on release sheets here for UNDFTD, as did the Stash series of late.
It is also possible the titles have shifted slowly over time as this limited release schedule was built up more and more by nike. Eh, just give me the shoes.

^ That sounds about right!
I preferred limited stuff when it was an unexpected bonus, not when it is planned that way.

There is only one 'official' Teir 0 account in Australia and that belongs to SP1 in Sydney. Dakota in Melbourne is second in running but because they are not an 'official' Tier 0 account, they only get certain things in. Teir 1 accounts I believe include places like Provider. Whoever has a Teir 1 account is also offered Quickstrike product.
Can someone confirm this?

OK so it's like this
Hans is pretty much on the money
Basically, Hyperstrike = Tier 0 and Quickstrike = Tier 1.
Officially there is only one Tier 0/Hyper Strike account in Australia and that is SP1 in Sydney with Dakota as the second place getter/every now and then getting some Tier 0 product, which usually doesnt make it to shelves. Other Hyperstrike places around the world are Foot Patrol, UNDFTD, Alife HUF, etc .) A Hyperstrike shoe is usually available in limited numbers in each shop it is given to. I am also pretty sure that if you have a Tier 0 account you have no choice but to receive and sell this product, which shouldnt be a problem as this sort of stuff usually sells out almost straight away. I can;t guarantee that tho. Shoe examples incude Foot Patrol Stabs and CLOT Air Max.
Quickstrike/Tier 1 includes places like Provider, Prime, Dakota, Carhartt and Hype DC. These shoes are limited but not as limited as hyperstrike shoes. If you have a quickstrike account you order the quantity you'd like and this CAN be none at all. ALso many (possibly ALL) Tier 0 account tores have Tier 1 accounts too. Recent examples include the Size? Clerks Pack (90s, Stab & BWs) and Mighty Crown Dunk Hi & Court Force Low.
The old way of operations WAS a case where hyperstrike shoes just showed up at the shop and you didnt know when they were coming. From what i know it was usualy a case of something you were told about but didnt get to see or saw randomly and just showed up one day. This is no longer the case with quickstrike (i've had quickstrike line shets in front of me for 6 months with drop datres before). It is apparently the case with Hyper strikes now but with the blogs and what not if you have a tier 0 account and check them you'll know whats coming.
What Benny was talking about is often wrongly called hyperstrike versions of shoes. Another name usually used is Friends and Family versions. Basically these are versions of special shoes that have something different about them that the collaborator usually is given and disperses to "friends and family". The example of Stash x Futura Air Force 1s with laser engraving or the DQM 90s with special box and tongue tag are shoes like this. No one ever knows for sure how many pairs of these get made but its usually rumoured in factors of 12, eg 24, 48 and 72.
and i'm spent

I think Hyperstrike is not even Tier 0 sometimes as they are so little of them and they are mostly given away to friends/family. I have never heard of any hyperstrike being on sale. The rest is about right.

The DQM hyperstrikes were on sale I thought?? First few people were sold the hyperstrikes(I think only like 60 of that hyperstrike was made). I could be terribly wrong, but I would put a few pennies on it...

24 of those were made, thats what I remember Dave telling me when I was in DQM a week before the release. But who knows...
