This is a multi-faceted series of ‘aquatic’ shoes
that grew out of a simple idea, which was to fix
a stretchy spandex upper to a basic rubber sole
and call it awesome. Sold under the slogan
‘Hawaiian shirts for your feet’, Nike turned the
Aqua Sock idea into a lairy mini-franchise,
releasing dozens of variations over the years
including the Aqua Sock Too, Aqua Sock Classic,
Aqua Boot and even the Air Digs. Many mixed
tiger print with fluoro colours and wouldn’t be
out of place on the Ultimate Warrior. No laces
were required for these wet ’n wild masterpieces
of minimalism!
