Hey Thomas, how’s Berlin and Overkill? What are you guys up to these days?
I wake up and like to listen to AC/DC in the morning in ultra-high volume under the shower! On the Overkill side, we plan some nice, big and secret things for 2008. Be on the lookout for some heavy mindblowers in graff, sneakers, streets, art, gear and all that you and we love.
Thanks for your awesome holiday snaps, looks like quite an interesting time.
The best thing I ever did in my life! Seriously! Everybody around me in Berlin did all these far away trips when they were 20 years old. Asia, New Zealand, South America and so on... The farthest I got away by that time was New York and Miami. So with my age now past the number of 30, I had the opportunity to go to South America for a B-Boy Battle, so I didn’t hesitate! I landed in Sao Paulo, on my way I saw unforgettable places in Brazil, Venezuela and Trinidad & Tobago.
Is that the Trinidad version of Mardi Gras? Looks like one hell of a party!
The Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago is one of the biggest in the world. Even more crazy and wild than in Brazil. It goes on for a month and ends with a two day long parade. You have parties, concerts and costume competitions for all ages going on EVERY DAY! The thing with paint is called ‘J’ouvert’ (also spelled as Juvé or Juve and pronounced ‘joo-vay’). Starting way before dawn, peakin’ a few hours after sunrise, it’s where people go crazy, walking after bands and soundsystems, throwing coloured powders, water, smearing paint, mud or oil at each other in order to totally let loose and completely get out of their minds. The intention is to leave all evil and pain in life behind. If you haven’t figured out by yet, that shit was the most serious SNEAKER KILLER and fun at the same time!!!
