TROPICAL HEAT

It looks like everyone was wearing sneakers, both young and old. Was that their idea of dressing up Or did they wear other stuff at night in the clubs?
The day when I really dipped into the carnival and took many pictures, I was fascinated that 99% of all people had sneakers on their feet! EVERYBODY! Imagine crazy costumes like dragons, bears, voodoo priests, black, yellow, blue and red devils... but everybody was in sneakers! I think it wasn’t really a dresscode, you could see that people felt comfortable walking in their kicks through their hard everyday work and the crazy exhausting parade of two days! People really started to dress up in the night when they prepared themselves for the carnival parties, which then often took place in big and fancy clubs with high entry fees and sophisticated dresscode of course!

What was the weirdest / rarest / illest shoes you saw on that trip?
Suddenly within the parade there was this old dude. So I look down at his feet and BAM! I was shocked! He had these crazy funky technical high-tops on his feet with some fresh neon orange parts on them. I’m like ‘DAMN, what kinda funky fresh Ol’skool flavour sneakers are these?’ They reminded me of a pair of Ponys that I have or some old Nike Air Force IIIs. So I went closer and took a picture of them and then the best was the name Trax – never heard of them!
