2009 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

Since I am a Nikehead through and through, I had to choose a Swoosh - the NikeSB ‘Made for Skate' Blazer. There were only 24 pairs made and I still remember the night before they were going on sale...

I had come from a Patta party, drove by the Nike SB pop-up store and saw guys in line for the Blazers at 4am. I thought to myself, I'll just call SB up and secure my pair (since I have been skateboarding for almost 20 years and already did a collabo with the ‘Fret-Click', I have a good relationship with them). A couple of days later I called a friend at SB and asked for a pair. His answer was ‘Sorry bro but there are no more left, they all sold out in the pop-up store!' This was a huge bummer and I felt bad but eventually I forgot about it.

Months later in May this year I received a package from Nike and inside was a pair of Nike SB ‘Made For Skate' Blazers in size 12. Written inside the box was a note that said ‘Congrats with your second anniversary of WOEI - Team SB Holland.' Ah, you gotta love SB! Therefore the Nike SB Made for Skate Blazer is my sneaker of 2009.
