2009 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

CIM FROELING - DEN HAAG

NO BOYS ALLOWED

I was asked to pick my favourite shoe of 2009. And oohh that was hard! It was a very good year - that's why I prefer to share my three favourite sneakers (for three different reasons)

Number one: The ASICS Gel Lyte Speed x Patta x Delta. This shoe was one of the three Asics collaborations Patta started their 5th anniversary with. Delta is a great (graffiti) artist from the Netherlands and with this shoe it was love at first sight. I'm a super Asics fan plus I really like clean colours on a shoe. The reflection material takes this shoe to the next level and to top it all off, the ASICS laces always bring the icing on the cake! All that together, made this one of my top choices. One day I tripped, passed out and landed on my chin (the whole shebang). My chin was bleeding like hell and the first thing I checked was if the shoes were still clean - friends thought that I must have really hurt my head!!

Number two: The Vans Chukka Peacoat from the Vault collection. By far the shoe I have worn the most the last couple of months is the Vans Chukka Peacot. I love the fabric, love the model, love the dark navy with the black - it's very close to perfection (not perfect, cause you should always have room for improvement).

Number three: Nike Air Maxim 1+ Trainer. The shoe that I am most frustrated about is the Nike Air Trainer 1 OG. The thing doesn't exist in a size 5... Grrrr!! But I'm very excited that Nike have started to introduce the Air Maxim, because they keep innovating - a hybrid with that particular highly appreciated shoe? That's just nuts! Love it!! It's one of the shoes that I try to keep clean and treasure...
