‘CC’ me PLEASE! As I’m getting older my taste is becoming more refined. Gone are the days (well not completely) of candy coloured Nikes and limited-edition-special-collaboration-quick-strike-who-do-you-know-wait-in-line-for-a-week-sneaks, yeah, I’m just not there anymore. There is something about the super accessibility and mass-marketed offerings of most sneakers today that is a huge turn off.

The way I see it, lux brands are the new Quickstrike. They are understated and low-key for the most part, although, if these lux brands keep partnering with the likes of Kanye and Ronson I’ll be eating my words and rocking flip-flops. Sadly, with my refined taste and sophisticated yearnings come a price... can we say ballin’ on a budget ya’ll?

Yes, luxury brands like Gucci, Chanel and Louis come with hefty price tags. Fortunately my job as a treasure hunter comes in handy when seeking out the goods. And my skills came in extra handy the day I found these vintage Chanel sneakers. I was at one of my favorite haunts and I spied the black toecap peaking out from under a shelf and when I pulled them out and saw the khaki siding I knew I had struck gold! What size? Mine! And how much? $46! And where is the favorite haunt of mine you ask? Oh, a true lady will never kiss and tell :)
