NIKE 1/2 CENT
Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway was undoubtedly one of my favorite players before all of the injuries. Likewise, his signature sneaker line was one of my favorites not named Jordan.
Therefore, when photos of this Nike 1/2 Cent first surfaced on the web I was flabbergasted. Hybrids are really not my taste, however this sneaker is better than some of the original Penny Hardaway signatures in my opinion. Specifically, I would take this 1/2 Cent over the Nike Air Penny III and IV. In addition, you can never go wrong with the Foamposite material.
I fell in love with these even more when Nice Kicks founder Matt Halfhill displayed these shoes in a totally different light... literally. One photo consisted of a pile of all Penny signature sneakers with the newly designed 1/2 Cent sitting on top of the pile. For me, it really put the shoe’s inspiration in perspective. Better yet, the photos of Lil’ Penny pointing out the inspirations was an even better look. All in all, the Nike 1/2 Cent is one of, if not the best, hybrid sneakers ever!
