TOP 10 RULES OF COLLABS!

It’s easy to focus on those esoteric colourways that’ll have the internet going nuts, but what about the materials? Any idea about the construction?

So often, something that looks hot when those blurry catalogue pictures spread like wildfire takes a turn for the worse on scrutiny in the real world. Faux-leather masquerading as the real thing? But on the flipside, using too many textures like a Ritalin-fuelled child in a sweet shop creates some monstrosity. How about patent, croc, nubuck, ostrich and suede on the same shoe? Please don’t. Too many kicks are too busy. So busy in fact, that they’re pretty much morning rush hour. With the Crooked adicolor there was plenty of deliberation regarding the materials used, with a conscious decision to shift from the standard leathers to something a little different, but we knew better than to take it too far. We’re all for experimentation, but we know that the monkeys at a typewriter theory shouldn’t apply to footwear – increasing the variety of materials doesn’t up the odds of creating a masterpiece.
