In my mind, once the major players begin to sincerely comprehend the potential power women possess – to buy and to dictate trends – only then will we have the sneakers we need. As Erica says, “I also hope to see more companies stepping out to try to find their own aesthetics versus copying other brands. If I see another version of a Stan Smith in 10 years I will have a heart attack.”

Right on girl! And wouldn’t it be nice to get ladies involved in the creative process? Footwear made by us, for us, because we are here to stay and us ladies are a very important part of this industry.

And oh yes, please no more pink!
