As bona fide vintage sneaker collectors will know, the standard leather used in ‘80s sports shoe construction was tougher than teak, virtually bullet proof and weighed a ton. The genius of Reebok’s simple idea was evident in every pair – garment leather was as little as one millimetre thick, light as a feather and soft as butter.
As the Reebok catalogue called out ‘It’s luxurious. It’s rich. Reebok garment leather feels like you’re walking on clouds. If you’re a man or a woman who knows where you’re going, you’ve arrived.”
So what better way to celebrate Reebok’s remarkable era of success than by bringing back these four models, exactly as they appeared back in the day? Well... not exactly. These are not mere ‘retro’ reproductions of the original specs. Rather, Reebok have painstakingly replicated them with extra embellishments that mimic the imperfections commonly found on vintage sneakers.
