Amongst the sea of blue and white flags and the swirling scarves, ears still ring from the terraces – AR-GEN-TINA… AR-GEN-TINA… AR-GEN-TINA!!!
In recognition of the 10 PUMA players who helped steer Argentina to World Cup victory, 2007 sees the re-birth of the cult classic which etched itself into terrace history. Originally built as a lightweight court shoe, aptly accented with the national colours of the Argentinean flag, the simple pattern and low profile of the shoe was lovingly adopted by UK terrace fans. Thankfully, PUMA have chosen to ressurect it with its original seaport colourway and nylon spec.
So imbedded is the shoe within the origins of football terrace culture, it was only natural for PUMA to return the Argentina it to its roots….THE NORTH! Beginning in Liverpool and spreading across the heartland of football, PUMA unleashes the OG back to those who knew it best.
A limited drop of just 240 pairs worldwide is planned, with each shoe individually numbered, accompanied by a collectable fanzine dedicated to the unified spirit of 1970s football culture, written by terrace legends Kerso, Peter Hooton, SoleSeek, Phil Thornton, Shaun Smith and John Connolly.
