AW77 AND THE LEGEND OF LOOPWHEELER
Born from a simple philosophy, the AW77 is a sweathog with a secret. Named in honour of Athletics West (Nike’s own semi-professional Oregon based running club) and the year that produced both Star Wars and ‘Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols’, the AW77 takes your common garden-variety hoodie and flips it on its ear. How? It’s all about the luxurious grey jersey fabric made by an obscure company with the exotic moniker of Loopwheeler.

Strand by painstaking strand, the bespoke fabric is fettled using a primeval Japanese knitting machine that operates so gloriously inefficiently, it takes over an hour to produce a mere metre of material. The end result is a supernatural softness that is as uncanny as it is extraordinary – think of it as high-end fashion, slow-cooked for the proletariat.

And that’s how you bake an icon out of a molehill.
