THE WINDRUNNER
Geoff Hollister’s classic apparel design is a blustery lesson in restraint. Indeed the Windrunner is as the Windrunner does – no more, no less, no mess, no fuss. It’s a lightweight spray jacket designed for ramblers and harriers (an original jogging faction started by Bill Bowerman), that is as utilitarian as it is innocently beguiling. Constructed without ornamentation and devoid of cut and sew trickery, the Windrunner is defined by its single and deceptively simple design cue – the flying V shaped chevron, hewn from cloth at a meticulous 26 degree angle.

Timeless is a well worn chestnut, but in the case of the gusty Windrunner, the reputation is irreverence justified. How else do you explain a jacket that has been around forever, yet looks as flukishly contemporary as the day it was designed?
