AND THE FREE TRAIL?
Yes, another example of how collaboration produces the best products. I was inspired by and largely rode the coat tales of what Eric Avar, Tobie Hatfield, Kevin Hoffer and Jeff Pachata were doing with Nike Free. I simply just used all their discoveries from their original product and made a trail running version
of it. Beefed up the out-sole/mid-soles, and came up with a perforation pattern for the upper.
ANY OTHER SHOES YOU’RE PARTICULARLY PROUD OF?
Lots. Air Max (Barkley shoe), Air Deschutz, the Considered Mowabb I did with Tinker, Considered Humara, Air Vulgarian, the HeyZeus, the Wildedge Goretex and some of the stuff I work on with Mike Aveni. For Burton Snowboards, I’m still proud of the Viking and the Ruler boots. Nearly every snowboard boot on the market even today uses technology and ideas we started with those two boots. The Telemark boots I did for Black Diamond/Scarpa were great products to have worked on too.
SO WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW? ANYTHING YOU CAN TELL US WITHOUT BEING ASSASSINATED?
Most everything is top secret but here are a few things you might find interesting. These shoes have all been dropped because we’re told there is ‘no interest’ at retail. We like ‘em though – the Wildwood Mid, the Considered Dunk Convertible, Considered Dunk Outsole and Low 4, Dunk Aveni and Free Deschutz.
