While luxury brands normally don’t acknowledge their fans on a street level (save for a hip hop artist here and there), it’s clear that the influence of high-end brands is both appreciated and celebrated. Everyone wants luxurious statement pieces – for some people it’s sneakers, for others it is luggage or hand bags. With people lining up for days and re-sale prices of certain artist/colab models going into four-figures, isn’t it natural for sneaker companies to be rubbing shoulders with high-end brands? Perhaps it’s just a matter of time before Uncle Karl calls on some ‘female sneaker fiends’ to help with Chanel – I’m ready when you are!
