Is there political pressure being exerted in China and Korea and those places where the stuff's being made to stamp this out?
The three magic letters for a government to have an attitude about anti-counterfeiting are W.T.O. Whenever a country gets WTO membership, the first thing you'll see is international pressure exerted to enforce them to look after property rights. Everybody bangs on about China every day of the week and what they aren't doing around counterfeiting. Nike have a different view of that. We have found the Chinese authorities incredibly cooperative. We've done raids in China where we've seized 390,000 pairs of counterfeit shoes in one hit - the seizures last year by our team of Nike investigators in China were greater than the combined seizures of the entire US Customs Service! That's no miracle. The Chinese authorities are assisting us, there's no question about that. You either help them and get on with it, or you whinge and whine. That's counterproductive.
