D.I.Y McFLY HANDMADE SNEAKERS

You say you have over 500 pairs of sneakers right now, does the number ever change, or do you keep every pair that you source?

It continues to grow, with more and more sneakers every day. I don’t sell or trade any of my sneakers that I have in my collection. If there is a sneaker I like a lot, I buy two or even more of the one model, so I can wear one and collect the other. I have one room at home dedicated to my sneakers but it’s getting too small now.

Is it only vintage that you source? Are you feeling any of the sneakers that have dropped this year or so, or do you pride your collection on hard to find rarities?
No I don’t just collect vintage. I like the new styles as much as the old ones it’s just, I never buy a pair that I don’t like or just because it’s a limited edition.

I know it’s hard to pick a favourite shoe in the collection and we would never ask you to, but do you have a preference when it comes to brands?
Oh no, don’t make me choose! I love them all from lace to sole. Each brand is a favourite. If I had to choose one sneaker out of my collection it would be a pair of high tops for sure. The one sneaker I like to wear a lot because it is very comfy and great looking is the Reebok BB4600 Hi top, I have about 18 pairs of them, almost in every color.

Are you partial to rocking any of the sneakers or do you not risk the tears of cracked midsoles and uppers becoming detached and splitting in half?
At home I can wear all my sneakers, without risking anything. Of course I have sneakers from the ‘80s that cant wear anymore, because the soles are falling apart. But I like to wear each one of them, because I live for today and you never now what will happen tomorrow.
