SEKURE D'S GUIDE TO CUSTOMISING SNEAKERS

Using Angelus Duller is essential to ensure that the Angelus paint isn’t overly glossy. Approximately 7-10 drops of duller for every ounce of paint will be suitable. I also add a couple of drops of acetone to the paint just to help with the bonding.
Do NOT add too much duller or acetone or it will compromise the quality of the paint.

You can do this before or after woodburning by using regular old masking tape. I cut it into 5-6cm rectangles to help with round edges. I do not usually mask this much but since it’s a guide... I thought I’d make it crystal clear for you all.

Sketch the croc pattern on with a pencil so you have an accurate guide to work with. A thin layer of white paint applied beforehand will help make the sketching a lot easier to do.
You have to let the woodburner heat up, and once it has it will glow red, after which you can start work. Remember that even though the ‘Tiffanys’ have straight lines, the croc pattern is not so perfect, so work with different shapes and line work. Make sure to keep the tip moving and with a constant speed so the depth of the print isn’t uneven. This is essential as carbon and leather residue builds up on the tip. If this happens, clean it with sandpaper lightly as this will ensure better results.
