Anyone that has made the journey into Sneak and Destroy would be well aware that we aren’t big fans of the real world. It’s boring and too grown up. You can’t time travel, kill polar bears or fight smoke monsters. So in January 2010 when we first saw the Dharma Initiative Nike SB Blazer, we both ‘lost’ our minds. The fact that this quick strike didn’t even make it to Australian shores only added to its desirability for us. We love the subtle touches that tie the sneaker back to the 1970 scientific island dwellers who were working for the Department of Heuristics and Research on Material Applications a.k.a DHARMA, some thirty years before Ocenica flight 815 crashed (I did mention we don’t live in the real world right?). The simple beige canvas upper, white Swoosh and matching sole make these shoes look as if they’ve fallen out of the TV screen and into our hands.
Or should we say Rob’s hands… He’s the one who managed to score a pair from the crew at Kicks/Hi in Hawaii, whilst he was touring the sets from LOST with his girlfriend. Apparently they only had one pair left in his size and not mine...
