JEREMY SCOTT X ADIDAS CROSS COMBAT BOOTS
This year I moved to New York City from Australia, via Suriname, Amsterdam, Sweden, Paris, England and the Dominican Republic. As a result I’ve been inspired by the fusion and chaos of vastly differing cultures. That inspiration manifests itself through my accessory design, styling and performance work, which is generally a mixture of unexpected, colourful visual and cultural references thrown together to create something original. I love these boots/sneakers because they reflect those ideas. The Jeremy Scott for adidas Originals Cross Combat Boots are my favourite because they are utilitarian, strong and durable and are embellished with a Byzantine inspired beaded cross. Weird huh? A beaded religious icon (I’m not religious by the way) seems like the most unexpected addition to a pair of hightop sneaker combat boots. That’s why I love them… they are a curious fusion!
