2010 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

I copped these this year at the Patapsco flea market in B-more: The official B-more Nike Air Force 1s! There is some serious history between B-more and the Air Force One. I broke this story a few years back in the Untitled book by Low Down. As a kid growing up in Baltimore the AF-1 was not so popular in places like NYC or Philly. There was one famous store called Charlie Rudo that was carrying the weight of the AF-1 production. It was my personal fave, so if it wasn’t for Charlies it may not be with us today. In the mid ‘80s in order to keep the shoe hot in the streets in B-more, an early sneaker pioneer named Mr Shoe was able to get custom colour limited edition AF-1s exclusively for the chain in Baltimore, so it’s possible that Baltimore invented the concept of limited edition sneakers and colourways 30 years ago. B-more keeps on making it, the world keeps on taking it!
