2008 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

I'll be honest, I've lost a little faith in the Air Max 90 over the last couple of years. Aside from the Infrared (which was re-released AGAIN), decent colourways have been few and far between and I've been seeing all manner of everyday citizens wearing them in ways so inexcusable, they should be receiving infringements.

However, just when I thought it was time to boycott the shoe entirely, Nike pulls an ace out of their sleeve in the form of the Air Max 90 'Current' and as a result, my affection for the silhouette has not only been rekindled, but has reached new and exciting levels that can't be discussed in an international publication.
To me, a predominantly black silhouette with red hits and a white sole is the definition of a perfect shoe, hence the Ben Drury artist release being my Current of choice. I can wear them with anything, the 'free' sole feels like walking on clouds made from feathers, and they still have that neck-breaking, second look effect that is essential when you're lurking in the city, The checkerboard interior also helps maintain their aesthetic appeal when they aren't on my feet and the 'Oh8' hit on the tongue lets suckers know that I'm all about this year, and this year only. Bonus, they haven't been released in an all patent rainbow projectile vomit colourway as of yet, which could mean the start of a long and successful tenure.
Basically, I've been running these babies into the ground since the day I got them and for all of the above reasons, the Ben Drury Air Max 90 Current is my pick for shoe of the year, if not the century.
