2008 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS
There were so many kicks this year I loved such as the Air Jordan Force 5 Fusion Wine ‘n Grind and the Air Max 90 King Of The Mountain Mowabb. But my favourite release this year was the Black Alligator Air Max 1 which was part of the ‘Hart/Hard’ package that I designed as a gift from Nike iD Europe to celebrate the release of my fourth and fifth studio albums.
Aside from that, the Air Max 1 has been glued in my mind ever since I saw KRS One wear them on the back of the ‘By All Means Necessary’ Album (Boogie Down Productions, Jive, 1988). Being given your own 12 sets to give to people was just ridiculous! I love the matte style Black Alligator leather and the Deep Red swoosh, plus the titles of my two albums on the heels, man, it’s just amazing. My DJ (TLM) never wears his pair! They are on top of his monitor speakers in his studio. He is so totally in love with them. They also feature in my new video ‘Hart/Hard’ as well. Now that the AM1 has gone from the ID site, it will be sought after even more. Not that that really matters, ‘cause I love them anyhow!
