We all know ‘the best’ is a matter of perspective and your ‘best’ might be the next guy’s ‘worst’. I was hanging with Clark Kent recently and he summed up personal style and choice in a simple quote. He told me good fashion sense is ‘trying to stay fresh without looking crazy’. Genius.
I’m not one to follow trends or get easily pulled into the next ‘new’ thing. I rock what I like and rock it with conviction. So my choice for the best of 2008 is the Nike Air Zoom Tallac Lite. Why? They’re dope. Do I climb mountains or run on trails? Nope. Did I analyse the tech specs before investing? Nope.
Like most that work in this industry, I might be a little jaded to the normal hyped drops. We all wait on Js and Forces to be released, but I was genuinely excited about this shoe. Nike’s ACG game is on point and the Tallac might have been a sleeper but The Butcher is an insomniac. When I was a shorty we tried to be original and were inspired by the unconventional. I didn’t want to be confined to a box style-wise and always looked for a way to ‘be fresh without looking crazy.’ Check my fresh!
