2008 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

When New Balance informed me about their collabs with Limited Edt Vault and Leftfoot, I was thrilled! This is the first time that we’ve had official collaborations between major sneaker brands and stores from the South East Asian region.
The New Balance 577s were produced to mark the five year anniversary of Limited Edt, which was Singapore’s first sneaker boutique of its kind. The Made in England New Balance 577 BBL was made in a limited run of only 140 pairs worldwide and comes in a special box with a combination lock that corresponds to the serial number of the sneaker. Themed after the Limited Edt store in the Heeren called the Vault, the burgundy/black colourway of the shoe matches the interior of the store with gold thread representing the opulent decor. Even the shoebox takes inspiration from the bank vault with its metallic silver finish and the combination lock, which reminds you that you are purchasing a very exclusive and valuable product.
As for Heaven & Hell, renowned customizers SBTG and Methamphibian got together to design a pack of New Balance 576 for Leftfoot. The idea according to the artists was to create a uniform looking shoe using just one overall color which in turn created as much depth as possible with the mix of materials, patterns and print applications. And of course, the Heaven is in white and Hell in black. Each pair comes with a specially designed commemorative drawer box featuring tiger-stripe camo and the heaven and hell battle artwork on the inside drawer panels. The sneakers are part of New Balance’s 20th anniversary celebrations for the 576 model and are Leftfoot’s first ever collaboration shoes. Big ups to the New Balance Team (Arthur, Patrick and Eugene), Mandeep’s crew at Limited Edt and Anthony, Kevin and the team at Leftfoot.
