HANS DC / SNEAKER FREAKER / MELBOURNE / NB x 1500 TOOTHPASTE

After weeks of procrastination, I narrowed my list down to 3 or 4 pairs. But all of them were Nikes. So I had a deeper look and one thing that stood out amongst the rest was the recently released Solebox x NB 1500 ‘Toothpaste’ pack.

Like everyone else, I leant towards the mint ones at first. They looked so fresh in the leaked photos, but it turned out to be the orange pair that I fell in love with. I know the 1500 has been around for a long time, but most will agree that it’s still one of the best New Balance silhouettes. The finer details here are really on point. Apart from the leather, patent, suede, 3M, mesh and a gum-sole – the thing that put the icing on the cake for me was the little ‘stud’ on each side of the top lace holes which has ‘SOLEBOX’ on it. It’s a very minor detail, but to me it’s the most important aspect of just about anything – attention to detail.
