2007 - BEST OF THE BEST SNEAKERS

THOMAS / OVERKILL / BERLIN / ATMOS ELEPHANT x NIKE AIR MAX

This shoe is me and I’m the shoe. I love the Air Max 1 for the slim line that it has, floating with that peppy swing from the bottom of the forefoot to the top of that big sole including the visible air system. Walking in that shoe is just incredible because of its easy fit and the soft air technology. Also the whole flavor and myth around the shoe that I grew up with in Europe is just my type! That Paris Hustler Suburb, Levis 501, Berlin Graffiti Writer, Leather Sport Jacket, Evil Eyes Spirit, infected me to this day. And I always have been a CRAZY addict for the stupefying safari, cement and elephant patterns.

Suddenly, there it was – the Atmos ‘Elephant Pack’! I couldn’t believe my eyes. As I saw this shoe for the first time, it was on eBay, I thought ‘gotta get it no matter what!’

So I bought two pairs right away from Japan and it was hella lotta money but I didn’t gave a big damn. Afterwards I found out how many pairs followed on the net for much less – on top of that I even got a few pairs to sell in my own store!

I’m still so in love with that shoe that I almost wear it every day and I always rack my brain that I wear them too much and destroy them too soon. I love the most simple black and white with that turquoise smash effect, combined with that one round of elephant print. Everything in leather making it much more solid and stable than the mesh models – perfect!
Atmos and Nike did a real great job on these three joints and it’s my personal Best Of The Best 2007.
