Search for the holy grail
blog by dzease183 21st Apr 2007A sneaker head is never content... as long as new sneakers are released there is alwayz a craving, in some cases it's a sneaker that was released years back and slipped us by or was released b4 we started collecting, in any case we are alwayz on the prowl....
I wanted to share with you the story of my search for the sneaker that just wasn't to be in my collection.....yet, ive been collecting proberly 3 years in total and consider my self relativly new to the game, ive alwayz loved sneakers but going to a friends house and seeing his collection of jordans kicked it off for me, started with a pair of delta forces and just loved the old skool look( air force 1, dunks, terminators) at the time i was buying from a shop called fiasco in perth, they had a lot of dope releases in 2004 and then a whole lot of air max 90's were released, this shoe was sick but i thought i'd be like every one else and buy air force 1 or dunks, i remember seeing the 90's navigator's, safari's hemp's and of course THE MEAN GREEN and passed on all of them..... big mistake.
I came to termz that the for me the Air max 90 was it. it was the shoe for me, i hunted day and night on ebay to fill the void slowly but shorly getting almost every colour way i could remeber which came to the second time i missed the MEAN GREEN colour way a pair came on ebay in my size and me being an eager beaver i asked if there was a buy it now???? the seller told me 260 U.S and me being a stinge told him i would pay 220 U.S.....wrong move!! he told me yeah no worries, being a auction he told me to bid until i was the highest bidder and he would end the auction, so when i did and he did not end the auction i started to worry hrmm i msged and msged, there was proberly 6 hours to go and i was still the highest bidder by a long shot i made the fatal mistake of going to bed early and not setting my alarm, the next morning i was horrified to see the auction had gone to $280 and i lost the Grail, proberly the darkest day in sneaker history for me =(
Since then i have never been able to locate a pair in my size or dead stock condition, if any one has one to get rid of in size U.S 10 please email me at dzease183@yahoo.com.au, will pay good money.
