RAGGAMUFFIN FESTIVAL RECAP

This past weekend reggae fans were treated to the yearly festival dedicated to everything Rasta - Raggamuffin! With a new location at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, thousands poured in to watch The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Maxi Priest, Ky-Mani Marley and more tear down the house. However it was no secret that the majority of heads were there to catch the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Ms Mary J Blige, after fans were left disappointed following her canceled tour three years ago. With the thick sweet smell of ganga in the air, MJB more than made up for lost time taking us all on a journey through her classics hits to a sprinkling of her newest jams.

Highlights included her orgasmic rendition of 'No More Drama' along with an emotionally charged performance of U2's 'One' mega hit. It's no accident that Mary is the Queen. She may not top the charts like she used to or create those ageless gems from her Bad Boy years, but with one of the most powerful and passionate live shows we've seen in a long minute, Mary will forever remain a legend in the music scene and serve as an incredible inspiration for years to come. Props to Peter Oliver, Andrew McManus and everyone involved in the Raggamuffin tour! We look forward to next year's line up!
