Broke my collarbone last sunday so updates will be slow for the following weeks. Sorry.
Had some time to put everything together for a groupshot, enjoy.

Detailed shots:

I usually write my blogs on the same day as they happen but I've been busy so here's a quick recap of the end of last week.
Thursday
The homies down at Frisco started a quick sale on some goods so off course I went down to check if there was anything good in it for me. Had a good time talking to Rick (who finally traded his Patta Asics for his size, congrats!) and left with Fresh Jive NWA and Mike Chuck tees,

Also, the Kool Keith interview I did at dour finally made it online, check the audio here.
Friday
More interview biz, had to get up early to interview Dutch hiphopduo La Melodia. This MC/Producer combo has already been doing it big in Japan and their album finally gets a release in The Netherlands, the rest of Europe and the US will be able to find it in their recordstores later this year. Interview went great, they were really cool and time flew by before I knew it.

Had to kill the rest of the day since I had a appointment with my study advisor later that day so I visited all the shops in Amsterdam, spent some time talking with my colleagues at the big Nike Store in Amsterdam, went to Utrecht's newest sneakerstore Lock and Load (not that impressive) and local skateshop Ezone. I was broke as hell but still managed to spent my last cash (I'm litteraly broke right now) on Jovontae Turner FTC Half Cabs that were on the salesrack for 50 euro:

For that price I just had to complete the set:

Went to school, funny how much can change during the summer months. The building they were constructing next door is finally finished, the grass in front of the my building has grown back and the bar starts serving alcohol at 2:30 pm instead of 3:30 (when I started the first alcohol round was at 5:30...)
Next week there will be new adventures so stay tuned!
up.
Probably won't be there myself, there's no real cause (like the one in Utrecht last year wich was the shit!) and I'm almost broke. Still, if you're in the neighbourhood get down and shred it up.
Over here in the Netherlands there's an ad campaign about how everyday people (cops, railway employees etc) help the fight against terrorism. Now I believe that the whole war on terror thing is complete bullshit (especially over here) but this ad upsets me the most. The shot was also seen in the commercial for the campaign but now it's also at busstops and trainstations all over the country:

It reads: The neighbourhood police officer against terrorism. What we see is a police officer holding a kid's ID while he seems to be shooting at him while his female colleague has radio contact with the station, probably for back-up. What has this kid done you ask yourself? Well, I bet it has something to do with the skateboard he holds under his arm. Besides the shitty set-up of the photo (unskated board, carrying it with the griptape against his clothes) I have no idea what a cop that's pissed off at a skater has to do with terrorism... Maybe it's because a skateboard almost took out our prime minister about a year ago?
No blogs for a while, work had me busy. Thanks to Q down at the Sneaker Freaker forums I went down to the outlet in Roermond. He always posts updates of new arrivals at the Nike Factory Outlet and a whole batch of Nike Dunk SB Eire's just got in. Too bad all the big sizes were sold out already, still managed to pick up some nice gear though:

Nike Warm Up Zip Up Parka and tee, both from the 'Just Do It' collection and a Vans black on black Checkerboard New Era.
The Puma outlet had a 'second shoe half off' deal so I decided to feed my Clyde hunger with these two pairs:

Still need to pick up some fat laces for the orange ones.
Today I received a nice little gift from the guys down at Sneaker Freaker. As a thank you for my blogging they sent me their tenth issue with a bunch of stickers. Thanks a ton guys!

Picked up two new bags yesterday.
First the Nike 3 Way Commuter bag. When it first appeared on the web I was all over it, but the pricetag (200 euro's!) was a bit too much. Thanks to connects at Nike I got a 50% discount and I am now proud owner of probably one of the coolest backpacks ever:

The laptop compartment:

Main compartment:

But this is what really sold me on the bag. Almost everyone has those days where you really want to wear that fresh pair but you're not completely sure if the weather is gonna hold up. Since you don't want your kicks to get ruined you settle on another pair or pack some beaters in your backpack, something that costs a lot of space. Well, this backpack has you covered. First of all a special place for your sneakers:

You can remove the 'sneakersack' if you want to, there's a hidden compartment underneath:

And when it starts to rain you switch your heaters for your beaters and cover them up to make sure they don't get wet:

I've seen backpacks with speakers, coolers, seats, iPod control but this is the best feature in a backpack ever.
Second bag is an oldie but goodie:

That's right, Alphanumeric. Mecca's attempt at a skatebrand wich was loved by many and made some real nice stuff. Too bad Mecca pulled the plug a while ago and nowadays it's hard to get Alphanumeric stuff. My storemanager and I once spent a whole afternoon talking about old skatebrands and he mentioned he still had this bag. He sold it to me for a good price and it's great to transport your board (and some other items:

Even my big ass cruiser fits in perfectly:

And I almost forgot, picked up some kicks as well. Lightly worn Nike Dunk High Shima Shima II for only 50 euro's:

Also picked up an Xbox 360 two days ago, so I'm ready to do an insane skate. marathon as soon as it drops.
The asian take-out restaurant near where I work closed their doors today. Starbucks is moving in with their first two public bars in the Netherlands and that means my store manager has to find another place to get his food. As a going away gift they hooked us up with some expensive sets of sushi. I never tried sushi, don't like fish in general, but I have to admit it was pretty good. Always good to try new things, next time I'm in a sushi bar I know that this stuff isn't that bad.
Me and a bunch of friends have a annual bbq tradition. Usually it's the only time we see eachother in 12 months. This year it was crazy, pretty much as always. Let's start at the beginning...
Just when I was about to head to the busstop my iPod died. It would only boot in Disk Mode so I had to delete all my files. Quickly grabbed my Shuffle and made it to the busstop in time. Too bad the bus didn't show up so I was late already. Grabbed a cool six pack from the store and got in the train where I bumped into one of the guys that was going to the bbq as well. We met up with the rest and took a subway and a bus to the house of the guy that was hosting this years bbq. There were four cases of beer, a bottle of tequila and a bottle of bourbon, so some people got completely wasted. One of my friends made the biggest bbq burgers ever so at least our bellies were getting filled.
We decided not to hang around the house for too long (the neighbours had kids, we didn't want to keep them awake) so we headed towards Rotterdam, where some douches called us fags from the other side of the road, a girl threw a fit because she didn't get a hit of a joint that was just lit, a guy offering us coke, fights with police, you know, the typical saturday night stuff.
My sister and her friends are hitting up Barcelona for a week and since it was cheaper to fly from Brussels instead of Amsterdam I had to drop them off. Driving at night is great, roads are clean and it just feels okay to push it past the speedlimit a bit further than usual. The only thing that sucked were the Belgian roads. I love Belgium (the Flemish part at least) but their roads are the worst. The signs suck (thank god for navigation systems), they put exits on the weirdest places and, roads split within corners etc. Managed to do it in less than two hours per trip with my stereo blasting anything from Sade, Michael Jackson, Bloc Party and Lupe Fiasco. Got home, hit the hay because I've got a end of summer BBQ later today, more about that tomorrow.
